Q: Can I download Firmware V 5.0 Express?
A: No. Firmware V 5.0 Express is installed on all Mini VBar units when they leave the factory. However, Mikado
will make available Firmware V 5.0 Pro for Download in August. The price for this update will be announced.
Q: What is the difference between Firmware V 5.0 Express and Firmware V 5.0 Pro?
A: V 5.0 Express comes on all MiniVBars as they leave the factory. Firmware 5.0 Express is especially easy and
safe to use. Firmware V 5.0 Pro offers some additional features, such as Logfile, extended vibration analysis
and bank switching. Also only V 5.0 Pro is compatible with analog servos. For a detailed comparison of the two
firmware versions, please go to http://www.vstabi.info/en/featurematrix
Q: Are all previously sold VBar and Mini VBar units suitable for V 5.0 Pro?
A: Almost all. Those that have a silver gyro sensor are the only ones which cannot be updated to V 5.0. Silversensor
units can still be upgraded to V 4.0 (but not to V 5.0).
Q: My VBar has Firmware 3.6. Can I go directly to V 5.0?
A: Yes. The online updating procedure finds the newest fimrware version automatically. If your VBar has a sliver
sensor, you cannot update to V 5.0, only to V 4.0.
Q: I have a VBar with separate sensor (Item no. 4010). Can I update to V 5.0 now?
A: The update is available via download only. Mikado will make the download available in August. The price will
be announced.
Q: Should I purchase a Mini-VBar Blueline or a standard-size VBar?
A: The new Mini VBar Blueline (item no. 4357) is suitable for all electric helicopters with three swashplate servos.
For nitro helis, scale helis, and for helicopters with four swashplate serovs, the standard-size VBar must be
used. Currently Mikado is re-designing the hardware for the standard-size VBar. It will become available with a
blue case and Firmware V 5.0 Express in about September.
Q: Which Servos are suitable for MiniVstabi Blueline in connection with V 5.0 Express Firmware?
A: MiniVStabi Blueline V5.0 Express must be oparated with digital servos. Do not use analog servos in connection
with V 5.0 Express. Only Firmware V 5.0 Pro can be used with analog servos. You can update Firmware V 5.0
Express to V 5.0 Pro in August. The price will be announced.
Q: Does the Control Panel item no. 4152 function with V 5.0?
A: The Control Panel requires new software if it is to be used with V 5.0 Express or V 5.0 Pro. This software for
the control panel is avaialable for free download shortly.
