A Small update enables VBar to use the DSM-X Protocol which is provided by the new line of Spektrum transmitters.
One or two satellites can be used, two are recommended. With two satellites the performance of the standalone receiver AR8000 will be reached. The new PC software enables you to select between DSM-2 and DSM-X. On a successful bind, the transmitter shows the text "DSMX" in the display (DX8 Version 2.01).
The DSM-X System provides a noticable advantage over DSM-2. This can be seen in the logfile, where much less antenna switches are recorded. Most test flights did not show any antenna switches, which documents the good performance of DSM-X
Please note that you need DSM-X capable satellites. Its sometimes not possible to find an external marking for DSM-X, but if you try binding in DSM-X Mode, the connection will not come up in case of the sat is not capable of DSM-X. You can use DSM-2 then.
To update, install the new PC Software and do an online update of the VBars firmware.
This update is currently for 5.1pro only. The MAC Software will follow shortly.
